The resort owner was quite sure that he made the right decision to purchase this piece of sculpture work from the shifty Chinese peddler in the black market. As for why, he can't exactly put his finger on it - the swimsuit worn by the long-haired, busty statue emanated a strong aura of regality and grace, her expressionless face showing no signs of emotion...
If anything, the sculptor would have the insight to let her wear a Cheongsam or anything of that sort... but alas, it would seem that he or she had settled for a uniquely woven (metal?) swimsuit for her. The owner figured that the statue must have been made after a Goddess... Granted, the owner knew this is a thing in other cultures, but this isn't a temple or an altar... though if someone is to pray to it, there's no harm done in doing that, unless they physically touch the statue of course.
Either way, it was a liberating feeling to have 'rescued' this statue from the dank, scummy market alleyway and have it placed here on display, where she will be taken good care of. The owner thought that the statue should be thankful too, and somehow, just her presence is enough to make him feel safer and business has improved ever since
Perhaps there really is a Goddess living inside the statue.
